The Problem
Facing similar climate risks, three Outaouais MRCs needed individual climate plans that reflected their distinct realities — could they pool their resources and work together without compromising each one’s unique priorities?
The Problem
Can a shared climate approach serve three different MRCs without compromising each one’s priorities?

11
shared climate hazards
The Solution
SSG helped three Outaouais MRCs develop individual climate plans through a shared, collaborative process while still ensuring that each plan reflected the region’s unique sociodemographic and territorial characteristics.
SSG’s collaborative approach included a shared risk analysis alongside a specific examination of each MRC’s unique vulnerability and resilience factors.
Large-scale consultation activities brought together numerous regional stakeholders, enabling SSG to engage more people, generate a wealth of ideas, and foster meaningful collaboration across the three MRCs.
The final climate plans reflect each region’s unique characteristics while demonstrating the added value of working together.
