Introduction to Carbon Budgets
Webinar

24th March 2025
We set financial budgets to manage fiscal resources. Why not do the same for greenhouse gas emissions? Carbon budget frameworks can empower cities to stay on track and deliver on their climate action goals.
This webinar explores how municipalities can use a carbon budget framework to align financial and operational decisions with their long-term emissions reduction targets. A carbon budget and accounting framework is a structured accountability tool that helps decision-makers assess greenhouse gas impacts alongside financial considerations.
We are joined by Jill Hudgins, Environmental Strategist & Program Manager at the City of Fredericton, who shares insights from Fredericton’s carbon budgeting process. The session includes a live Q&A, providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions and learn from real-world experience.
