Over the past decade, Kelowna has lived through a devastating flood and several wildfires. As temperatures warm and weather gets more extreme, the community needs to figure out how to prepare.

The Solution
Using ScenaAdaptation, SSG identified how often and how severely different extreme weather events would affect people and infrastructure in Kelowna. The City combined the findings with SSG’s climate mitigation work to develop the Climate Resilient Kelowna Strategy, a climate adaptation and mitigation plan to reduce emissions and climate risks.
