We help decision-makers create decarbonized, equitable, resilient communities.
We work with municipalities, state and provincial governments, large organizations, and post-secondary institutions across the Americas to catalyze climate action that reduces inequities, creates economic opportunities, and improves quality of life.

We’re a worker cooperative with over 30 members and employees. Our confluence of diverse disciplines, personalities, cultures, and expertise enables us to prepare our clients to lead and implement climate action.
Cooperative
Rooted in a recognition that nothing short of systemic change is needed to address the greatest challenges of our time, our founders established SSG as a worker cooperative in 2001.
Our organization prioritizes providing meaningful work for our members while rejecting the drive for never-ending economic growth that fuels the climate crisis.
We believe democratic decision-making, fair participation, and a caring work environment are key to creating equitable solutions to the climate crisis.
Social and Environmental Justice
We are dedicated to addressing social and environmental justice through our work and in our own operations.
We publish many of our reports using the Creative Commons licensing agreement and our tools are open source.
We select projects that challenge the status quo and progress our knowledge and action on climate change.
We are committed to upholding a professional working environment in which we recognize the worth of each member in our workforce, provide equal rights and opportunities to all workers, and are actively anti-oppressive in sustained, meaningful ways.
